A Tour of Places Flowing with Mystical Energy at Mt. Takao
A Half Day Tour (about 3-4 hours, 5,900 yen)
Mr. Koryu, a Japanese mountain priest, will show you around Mt. Takao in Tokyo, explaining details about famous temples and shrines as well as some special spots flowing with mystical energy.
You will also join two traditional rites: “Goma” and “Otsutome.”
(Goma is a sutra chanting service to invoke devine help. It is a formal rite conducted in a big temple. Otsutome is also a sutra chanting service, and Mr. Koryu will perform it only for you in a small temple near the Takigyo waterfall.)
You can taste most popular sweets at Mt. Takao too.
Meeting Place: Takaosanguchi Station (Keio Line); In front of the ticket gate.
Meeting Time: It depends on the schedule of the instructor, but usually at 9:00 a.m.
You Need to Prepare:
1. Outfit for Mountain Walking
(We will not climb any steep slope, but we will walk in Mt. Takao.)
2. Fee
(5,000 yen to the guide and 900 yen for a round-trip ticket of the cable car.)
