Waterfall Meditation: a Form of Spiritual Cleansing
A Half Day Tour (about 3-4 hours, 6,000 yen)
With the guide of Mr. Koryu, a Japanese mountain priest, you can experience Japanese traditional way of Waterfall Meditation at Mt. Takao in Tokyo.
You will also join a traditional rite called “Otsutome.”
(Otsutome is a sutra chanting service, and Mr. Koryu will perform it only for you in a small temple near the waterfall.)
Many mystical experiences have been reported during/after this refreshing, interesting tour.
Meeting Place: Takaosanguchi Station (Keio Line); In front of the ticket gate
Meeting Time: It depends on the schedule of the instructor, but usually at 9:00 a.m.
You Need to Prepare:
1. Outfit for Mountain Walking
(We will not climb any steep slope, but we will walk in Mt. Takao for about 20 minutes to go to the waterfall.)
2. White Underwear
(We will lend you a white robe, and basically we wear white underwear under the robe. Colored underwear is allowed if you do not have white one. The robe will be wet and seen through a little, so if you do not like it, it is also allowed to wear a swimming suit under the robe instead of underwear.)
3. Towels and a Plastic Bag
(A plastic bag is for your wet towels and underwear.)
4. Fee
(5,000 yen to the instructor and 1,000 yen to the administration of the waterfall. If you join with your children in elementary school, the children will get a 5,000 yen discount.)
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
